Seasonal Shops
It’s officially summer, so we are starting to hear about all of the summer pop-ups happening around the world. In our neck of the woods, Chanel re-opened their East Hampton pop-up for the summer on Newton Lane:
Also in East Hampton, Louis Vuitton opened a permanent location on Main Street with a limited-edition bag to mark the occasion.
On the other side of the pond, Jacquemus opened a tiny shop in Portofino:
And in the South of France, both Loro Piana and Thom Browne have mini shops in St. Tropez.
Celebrity Ateliers
Angelina Jolie has launched her own fashion brand called Atelier Jolie. Gabriela Hearst announced that she will be enlisting the Chloe team, where she is creative director, to create the inaugural collection for Jolie’s new endeavor.
They don’t seem to have any product available for purchase quite yet, but do have open positions for tailors.
It’s unclear where this is going, but perhaps Atelier Jolie will become a place where Jolie’s high-profile creative friends can rotate in and out and drop a collection each season?
2023 LVMH Prize
This week, LVMH announced the winner of its prestigious LVMH prize:
Driven by a “passion for creativity”, LVMH launched in 2013 the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers. This patronage embodies the commitment of the Group and its Houses towards today’s young designers who will be tomorrow’s rising stars.
This year’s winner is Setchu, a Japanese designer working in Italy. We particularly like this matching equine/sweater vest look. Full IG feed here.
As part of the deliberations, MGC dropped this lovely pic into her instagram feed, reminiscent of the 2014 Oscar Selfie:
Quite the group of heavy hitters!
