Kid's Gifting Week 2022
We have extensively covered our own furniture needs in our new house, but the truth is Noemi has also been in desperate need of some upgrades as well. With the colder weather, she has been spending lots more time indoors and she practically ricochets around the house if there isn’t stuff to distract her. And, she is just growing up so fast, she really needs her own mini version of everything! Chairs, tables, kitchen sets, coffee cups….she just wants to do what her parents are doing.
One of the first things we bought her when we moved was this kitchen set from Hape - whenever I am cooking, Noemi HAS to participate, which makes actually making food quite difficult. But, now she can cook while I cook! Win Win!
Noemi’s new favorite thing to do is to play in this giant tent house her abuelos gifted her. She keeps a bunch of toys in there, and will play hide and seek in the window while we sit in the living room. It takes up almost half the room but it’s worth it!
And finally, this bean bag chair is something that caught my attention when I was at the Room & Board showroom. The $350 price is, shall we say, a little high for what is essentially just a bag of plastic beads, but we did like the look of this one. It’s not easy to find one that looks good! She’s been using this faux sherpa chair instead, and absolutely loves it. For some reason it’s only available in pink right now, but they do have other colors! 😀 The cream is backordered until after the New Year.
As Raquel previewed, we bought A LOT from Zara on Black Friday. They rarely put their kids/baby product on sale, but they put everything on their app at 40% off for one day only. In the licensed world, we got Rolling Stones and Pluto tees (Noemi is obsessed with dogs right now). We ended up buying 15 items in all - quite the haul!
We also LOVE browsing Patagonia’s Worn Wear kids collection - we got Noemi the cutest pink puffer for Winter this year!
🚨 We are launching a mini Kids collection, with graphics designed by Raquel. We LOVE how the Runners Club group turned out! Get your baby running! They will sleep better! There is also a “Let The Sun In” group, and a new adorable smiley face group. As a reminder, these are all made-to-order which significantly reduces waste. 🚨
And finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention something outrageously expensive. Context: Noemi has loved having some fake cars to roll around the house with - she has a Cocomelon yellow school bus, and a purple Minnie Mouse cruiser, both gifts from her lovely nanny. But now that she’s acquired a thirst for speed, we are looking at scooters, and well, motorized replica cars? There is this $900 Range Rover miniature car, which comes with wood trim and an MP3 player, or this G-Wagon with leather seats. A little different than the Cozy Coupe we had growing up!
AAAAND, if you’re still looking for recommendations, these two are the gold standards:
