Double Down
On top of everything going, I squeezed in a short (read: 36 hour) trip to Las Vegas to do some comp shopping and meet up with some colleagues.
The last time I was there was for a co-ed bachelor/bachelorette party and I can’t even remember where we stayed. I do remember eating at Bouchon at the Venetian, which thankfully is still there. The fries were overcooked, but thankful nonetheless.
We also did a spin through the Wynn, which is incredibly overdone, opulent and excessive. They don’t have a James Turrell, but they do have a Jeff Koons that is for sale and first brick-and-mortar Amiri store in the world.
After a long day of shopping, we did get to check out some great local restaurants and bars. The strip is the strip, of course, with plenty of great restaurants (though many of which are merely outposts of the better and more famous original locations in NY or LA). But it was nice to explore the arts district a bit. Esther’s Kitchen has outstanding pastas, salads and homemade sourdough. Liquid Diet is a craft cocktail bar with everything made in house. We actually had shots (yuzu, horseradish, tequila verdita) there, not to be recommended when you wake up for a 4AM flight the same day. And Vesta Coffee roasts everything on location, and I picked an adorable diner mug there for Raquel.
I stayed at the Aria, one of the more price point cons
FW24 On The Runway - Cowboy Rodeo
Louis Vuitton Men’s, now being guided by Pharrell, showed their FW24 collection with an over-the-top western theme. Think knee-high boots, ten gallon hats, bolo ties, turquoise accents and lots of fringe.
The strongest stuff was the workwear inspired looks - think Carhartt meets LV meets Deadwood.
The Prada Biosphere
At Prada, guests walked through an blue office maze into the Fondazione Prada and a “steamy corporate biosphere.”
Raf and Miuccia continued their partnership, showing a number of odd accessories, beautiful bags and belts, and lovely looking suits to wear to your all-blue cubicle.

Personal use of corporate jets is soaring.
Tough guys wear rings - lots of them.
