Hello All! Raquel here!
Chris is in market this week and has been just a tad busy. It’s been tough on Noemi and me being that Chris is the primary parent and cooks us our delicious meals on the reg (it has been a lot of takeout as of late). So without further adieu I’m stepping in to guest edit (instead of my usual backseat driver co-authorship that Chris truly cherishes). And, what better timing for me to have my writing debut than Women’s Gifting Week!
The Statement Slit Flared Trouser
Ah the gift of stretch pants! Seriously though am always looking for a way to make my leisure wear werk for work! An interesting trend in performance wear is the high waisted front slit trouser. Love how these can be styled with sneakers or strappy sandals. Some faves: Reformation, Bandier and Zara.
Accessories Fit All!
If you are heading on vacay post your holiday (we are going with the fam to Napa!), these square frame sunglasses are chic and flattering - love this pink tinted beige - but for the bold this fuchsia is fire! A great add on to the sunnies are some classic gold hoops from Laura Lombardi. I bought these for myself about three years ago and they are probably the earrings I wear most next to some classic twisted hoop hand-me-downs from my mom. The Laura Lombardi ones are great because they are hollow and I can wear them all day without feeling earlobe fatigue1. Plus they are perf when I want to dress up my cozy sweatshirt for zoom calls.
The Christmas Eve and New Year’s Outfit Toppers
Okay, so I’m aware you are supposed to get gifts for others this time of year, however!!!! A few gifts bought from me to me never hurt. Usually I get myself a little add on for my Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve Lewks. For Xmas Eve I thought I’d go for young2 Diane Keaton-esq styling and wear a tie. Also an excuse to shop Drake’s which never disappoints in patten play. Am especially gravitating toward this geo foulard. For New Year’s Eve I will be partaking in my usual tradition of good apps3, wine and dins, barely making it to midnight, and collapsing into bed (sigh, the life of a parent! Our daughter Noemi will be having bottle service though- she’s crazy!). Despite the early-ish bedtime I like to try and dress up… but usually opt for a comfortable outfit and statement shoes. These St. Agni fit the bill! Really love that they are a combo of slipper meets strappy. And the added bonus of a pragmatic heel.
Hope for the New Year
YES to Michelle Obama’s new book please! The Light We Carry is a follow up to Becoming. It’s aim: to bring our spirits up in a time of chaos and help us feel that ever elusive HOPE! A read perfectly timed for holiday gift giving or downloaded for your long car/plane/train ride home and read to you from none other than Michelle Obama herself in the Audiobook version.
We will be back to Chris at the helm for our next newsletter! Thanks for letting me crash the TT party!

For those of us who are serious earring aficionados - yes this is a real thing.
This is not to say the current Diane Keaton isn’t fab! Loved her styling for the Alessandro Gucci campaign here! (Also not to add a toe to this footnote - but - “Alessandro Gucci” is about to become “old Celine”, IYKYN!).
Chris and I have been into doing low-salt Lays chips with crème fraîche and caviar - truly the best of the best combos for high/low!!
