Jil Sander SS22 Men’s
Luke and Lucie Meier, the creative directors of Jil Sander, had their daughter Ella Rose the same week we had our little Noemi. While Lucie was in the hospital, she was putting finishing touches on an excellent Men’s collection that they showed in Milan last week. Plenty of our faves: muted pastels, brooches, and oversized outerwear.
They also released a Birkenstock collab that we have been drooling over.
McConnell’s Double Peanut Butter Chip
Since coming home from the hospital with Noemi, we’ve been getting all of our meals from Nouri (for Raquel) and Cook Unity (for me). Not having to cook at all has been an enormous time saver. (And much thanks to all of those that contributed!)
But we of course can’t help ourselves from seeing what else is out there, and we were needing some desserts to get us through the long nights. I’ve always loved McConnell’s Ice Cream from Santa Barbara, and recently discovered their double peanut butter chip flavor. It’s the perfect ratio of chocolate to peanut butter to vanilla - I’ve gone through two quarts already this week!
The other discovery was the Ceritas Vineyards Chardonnay - it was Raquel’s first glass of wine in 9 months, and it was worth the wait.
Baby Bode
Local fave Bode restocked their baby collection this week. For obvious reasons, this is very appealing to us. Even better, some of the fabric was used for adult pieces so that the whole family can match:
Noemi is still too small for any of this, but it’s something we are eyeing for 2022.
Olympic Outfits
It seems that the new move for DTC brands is to sponsor an Olympic team. Formerly, you would see labels like Ralph Lauren or Nike as the US Olympic team sponsor, but newer brands are looking to get in on the action.
Kim Kardashian’s Skims will be the official loungewear and sleepwear brand for Team USA:
Kim previewed on her IG account what the collection will look like.
Similarly, Telfar Clemens of Telfar is outfitting the Liberian Olympic team, his first foray into performance wear that will eventually become a part of the Telfar core collection.
We do wonder how much these deals cost to put together. Maybe we can sponsor a small Caribbean nation for Paris 2024? Or be Team USA’s official newsletter sponsor?
TT Golf Capsule
To go along with the tennis capsule that Raquel designed earlier this summer, we created a golf logo collection. I’ve always admired the Masters logo, and have been trying to get tickets for years. We think the homage to the storied golf tournament came out really well.
Check out the full collection here.
